An excursion to Entebbe, a city on the shores of Lake Victoria. The tour also includes a boat ride to Ngamba island, home of rescued chimpanzees
The word Entebbe means “the chair” in Luganda, which is the native language of the area.
The city has great views of Lake Victoria which is the second largest lake in the world. Entebbe was the colonialists’ administrative center and has many buildings that date over half a century ago.
During your tour in Entebbe, you shall have a chance to visit the spectacular botanical gardens and the Uganda Wildlife Education Center. The botanical gardens are home to monkeys and birds including weavers, waxbills and sunbirds, the Palm nut Vulture, Pied and Black-and –white casqued Hornbills, Eastern Grey Plantain Eater, Great Blue Turaco and many others.
The tour also includes a 1 hour 30 minute boat ride to Ngamba Island to view chimpanzees that have been saved and nursed back to health.
