This is an 8 day Tanzania safari package that takes you to most of the key destinations in the Northern safari circuit. Places to visit: Impala, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Manyara. Areas of interest: Crater tour, the great wildebeest migration event, balloon ride, Olduvai gorge, the tree climbing lions in Lake Manyara, elephants in Tarangire.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International airport. Upon arrival at the arrivals terminal, you will be met by our airport representative and transferred to Arusha. Overnight on Bed & Breakfast at your Hotel.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Breakfast at your hotel.
0800hrs - You shall be met by your driver guide, tour briefing and later, depart for Tarangire National Park arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch, afternoon at leisure and by 1530hrs, depart for a late afternoon game viewing in the Park.
Tarangire has the highest population density of elephants in Tanzania, and its sparse vegetation, strewn with acacia and large baobab trees, makes it a beautiful and special location. The strange-looking, centuries-old baobab trees are believed by the Maasai to be the first tree in creation. Before the rains, herds of gazelle, wildebeest, zebra, oryx, eland and giraffes migrate to Tarangire National Park's plains where the last grazing land still remains. More than 550 species of birds have been recorded in this Park.

Day 3: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Breakfast at your lodge. 0800hrs, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Check in.
1530hrs, depart for an afternoon crater tour - you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater. Explore the forest areas, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah for game viewing.
The Ngorongoro Crater is regarded as a natural wonder of the world and has been declared a World Heritage Site. It is the largest intact crater in the world. On the crater floor, grassland blends into swamps, lakes, rivers, woodland and mountains, the flora opens to grassy plains throughout the crater floor. Here, you can spot large herds of zebra and wildebeest, lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, cheetahs and three species of jackals. Tanzania's few endangered black rhino are regularly sighted in the crater, and also are large herds of buffalo.

Day 4: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge
After breakfast depart for Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains.
Lunch at the lodge in Serengeti. Enjoy late afternoon drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for game viewing till sunset.
Serengeti is the Tanzania’s most famous national park and its large ecosystem extends beyond the Park to include several other conservation areas and reserves, including the Masai Mara in Kenya. It is through these extensive protected areas that a million of wildebeest and thousands of zebra and impala, complete the great circulatory migration which attract visitors from all over the world. Throughout the year there are abundant game including giraffes, warthogs, reedbucks, leopards and large prides of lions, wildbeests, zebras, impalas, buffaloes and elephants..

Day 5: Serengeti
Full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. Meals and overnight at the lodge in the Serengeti National Park
Day 6: Serengeti
0500 hrs - Take the opportunity to fly over the Serengeti in a Hot air Balloon provided at an extra cost. This is an optional activity. The balloon package includes bush breakfast accompanied with champagne! Return to your lodge by 0900hrs
OR
0630 hrs – Depart for morning game drive before breakfast, the rest of the morning at leisure. After lunch, relax at the lodge.
1600 hrs – Enjoy another game drive till sunset.
Dinner and overnight at the Sopa lodge.
Day 7: Serengeti – Lake Manyara National Park via Gibbs Farm
0630hrs: Enjoy morning game drive in Serengeti.
Return to the lodge for late breakfast then depart to Ngorongoro Highlands. Lunch at Gibbs Farm or similar hotel and later you shall visit the waterfalls. Proceed to Lake Manyara for overnight.
Lake Manyara National Park is a splendid reserve that boasts an incredible diversity of terrain including a combination of rift valley lake, dense woodlands and steep mountainside, as well as plant and animal species. Established specifically to protect the elephant herds that have made this area world renowned, the park also has diverse species such as monkeys, antelopes, zebras, hippos and crocodiles, buffalo, giraffe providing varied wildlife experience. The Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions. The lake attracts considerable birdlife

Day 8: Lake Manyara – Arusha
Breakfast at the lodge. Thereafter, enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park followed by lunch at your lodge. After lunch, drive back to Arusha and later drop off at Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back home.
